Parking is $5/car (April 1 -October 31) and is payable by credit card at kiosks conveniently located at each Aquarium parking lot. For more information please visit:

The last entry for general admission is at 3:30pm daily. Member admission is available until 4:00p.m.

How to Visit as a Member*

Online Assured Admissions for Members

We set aside a select number of entry slots just for our members! Reserve yours online in advance for assured entry on the day and time you wish to visit.

 

Call-Ahead Admissions for Members

We welcome Members to visit even if Online Assured Admissions slots have sold out for the day and time you wanted. Call Guest Services to reserve your preferred date and time to visit. Members who call ahead will receive an email confirmation with their tickets after completing their reservation with us, which can be scanned via smart phone at the Exhibits Gallery entry OR printed out by our team upon arrival.

 

Walk-In Admissions for Members

We welcome Members to visit even if Online Assured Admissions slots have sold out for the day and time you wanted. Stop by the Admissions Desk for the next available walk-in time (Note: members who visit as walk-ins may need to wait before they are granted entry).

*Does not apply to Special Events.



Following the regional resort parking schedule, the City of Virginia Beach will charge a modest fee to park in Virginia Aquarium parking lots from April 1 through October 31. Member parking is FREE. To activate your free parking, please call Membership Services at 757-385-0279. Additional information:

Scout Dolphin Tour

A brand-new, exclusive boat tour experience, this 70-minute excursion brings you even closer to wildlife in our new low-riding vessel.

  • All passengers must be 6 years or older for Atlantic Scout tours.
  • Tickets must be purchased in advance through online-only ticketing.
  • Passengers should report to the Aquarium Boat Dock (near the outdoor Seal Exhibit) at least 30 minutes prior to their scheduled tour.
  • Guests must be able to navigate stairs.

Life Support at Chesapeake Bay Aquarium
The Virginia Aquarium is home to a massive network of water processing infrastructure. Learn about the water quality process and filtration systems behind the Chesapeake Bay Aquarium, a 50,000-gallon exhibit that cycles 600 gallons of water per minute.

- Each program runs for about 45 minutes
- Participants must be at least 8 years old
- Participants must be at least 48" tall
- Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a paying, participating adult (18+)
- Phones, cameras, and other loose articles are not permitted on the tours.

Explorer Dolphin Tour

Join us on an unforgettable 90-minute excursion offering unparalleled close-up observations of bottlenose dolphins! Staff & volunteers trained by Aquarium experts share a program based on our three decades of experience and provide discussions on incredible dolphin behaviors and what is being done to conserve the species. We adhere to all responsible wildlife viewing guidelines.

Guests should check-in 45 minutes prior to the boat departure time at the dock adjacent to the Main Building parking lot at 717 General Booth Blvd. Tickets are only available online. Trips are subject to boating conditions, but will not be canceled due to precipitation. To confirm trip status, please call the Virginia Aquarium at (757) 385-FISH.

Tips and What to Wear: Please dress appropriately for the elements. Non-skid shoes, sunscreen, and sunglasses are recommended. Allow ample time for parking. Children under 3 must be included in your reservation.

Sharks Behind the Scenes
Join us above the Norfolk Canyon exhibit to see our sharks from a new perspective. Our team will share in-depth knowledge on the shark species that reside here, as well as details on their diet, their behaviors, and the Norfolk Canyon itself, lying deep in the Atlantic Ocean nearly 60 miles off the coast.

Komodo Dragons Behind the Scenes
Step behind the scenes of the Restless Planet to watch a feeding with the largest and heaviest lizards on Earth. The Virginia Aquarium is home to three Komodo dragons that are trained to a target pole and laser pointer which makes daily interactions, such as feedings, safe for both dragons and handlers.

- Each program runs for about 45 minutes
